Biodegradable nitrile disposable gloves meet ASTM D5511 and D5526 standards for degrading into organic compounds faster than standard nitrile gloves when they are disposed of in biologically-active environments such a landfills. Nitrile provides high resistance to puncture, tearing, and abrasion, and good resistance to chemical splash. They are generally thinner and more tactile than vinyl and latex gloves, while maintaining strength. Powder-free gloves do not have a powder coating inside the glove, reducing the risk of allergic reactions and contamination.

General purpose disposable gloves are used for common tasks such as cleaning, handling parts, and other general maintenance tasks. Disposable gloves are used once and thrown away or recycled after each task to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
